Built for an oceanfront site

Located on an oceanfront site in Exuma, this completed Bauhu modular home combines Caribbean colonial architecture with hurricane-resistant construction. The hybrid steel frame is elevated on a pier foundation to respond to storm surge, flooding and salt-air exposure.

The three-bedroom residence is based on Bauhu’s Grapetree concept, with shaded verandas, covered outdoor living areas and a layout arranged to capture ocean views and trade winds.

Faster, lower-impact construction

The modular structure was assembled by an experienced local contractor. Off-site manufacturing and rapid on-site assembly reduced disruption while delivering a highly insulated, energy-efficient building envelope.
