Hope Town

Modern Caribbean colonial design

Tucked in the heart of Hope Town on Elbow Cay, this completed Bauhu modular home blends traditional Bahamian architectural character with modern building technology. The two-storey colonial-style duplex was designed to complement the island’s historic streetscape.

A white exterior, azure louvered shutters, wood balustrades and a Bermuda-style pitched roof connect the design to the surrounding cottages and clapboard homes.

Homes above, retail below

The ground floor provides a flexible retail or commercial space. Above it are two one-bedroom apartments, each with a private entrance and access to a harbour-facing deck.
